Final Wrap Up
In the end, Tiger proved to be a little too strong for the field.
Final Match - Au Pair Posse outguns Long John Holmes 3 to 43
Tiger, Kenny Perry and a handful of last minute waiver wire additions competed (and won) over a LJH's B-listers. Aaron had Adam Scott and Carl Petersson going, but they couldn't keep pace with Jeff Brehaut and Joe Ogilvie. Well, lesson learned... don't finish the year at the Deutsche Bank. I took home gold ($250) and Aaron settles for silver ($100).
Bronze Medal Match - Choi's Chums squeeked past Tommy's Guns 7 to 11
The Clemson Crew held off a late charge by Lickliter II and having three guys miss the cut was just too much to overcome for TG. David takes home a cool $50 and Rick is on the outside looking in.
I'll send out checks sometime in the next week or so. If you haven't sent me money yet, you're a slacker and I'm sending my neighbor Jack-O out to find you. Please send me an email to arrange for payment.
Here's the final spreadsheet (Jeff willing).
Thanks to everyone for particpating in the PGL this year. I think we learned a lot about the new format, but all-in-all it seemed to work pretty well. I'm definitely up for doing it again next year (with some minor tweaks), so stay in touch and let me know if I should include you when planning starts after the new year. I'll want to start sooner next year, so we can hold the playoffs (and final) during a week when the top 50 players are all playing.
There's also talk of a fall golf outing on 10/1/06. If you're interested send me an email or comment here and I'll keep you posted. Depending on how many people we have we might be able to find a course somewhere nearby to host us.
Until next season...
