The Finals: PGA Championship
Final Results!
Finals
George (15) beat Babe (24)
Another PGL Season, another win by the owner who had the brilliance to draft Tiger as the #1 overall pick... well, not really. We have to give Geo props for fine tuning his team all the way down to the wire. He dropped hot player Justin Rose (he came in 2nd the week before the PGA) and added Aaron Oberholser just before the Finals and then had the kahunas to start him for the Finals (he came through for Geo with a -1). Babe can look no further than Jim Furyk, who played lights out all summer, only to lay an egg at the PGA. His 75 on Thursday followed by an atrocious double bogey on #17 on Friday sealed his fate. It was nice to see a good match though, that truly went down the the last nine. Congrats to both Geo and Babe for great seasons!

Third Place
David (58) beat Rick (61)
Despite the fact that (1) David forgot to submit a line-up and (2) Sergio signed a bad scorecard, he still pulled it out in a nail biter. Joe Maria picked up where he left off at Firestone, ballooning to a +15 after two rounds to miss the cut. But Hunter Mahan, Troy Matteson and Lefty played on the weekend and it was enough to out muscle a rudder-less Bernie's Heroes team (for the record, Langer no-showed for the PGA). Vijay pulled a Furyk and had two bogies (and no birdies) on the back nine on Friday to miss the cut on the line. Nice.

Best Loser
Jim (37) beat Aaron (45)
This one got ugly fast, with both teams losing three players to the cut. In the end, it was the Big Easy that pulled it out for my team. There's not much I can tell you that's surprising from this match... Henry, Watson and Hoffman missed the cut for Aaron; Stenson, Love III and Clark missed the cut to me. Els and Cink hung around a little more than Ogilvy and Glover to provide the margin of victory.
$70 to winner, $0 to loser
Thanks everyone for playing this year. I'll send out checks in the next week or so to the winners. I'll keep the distribution list and send you an invite for 2008 early in the year. Let try to get together before the end of the summer for some golf and/or drinks.
